How Often to Audit Emergency Markers?

As you know we have had a huge start to 2020 with Victorian Bushfires destroying 46 million acres of land across Australia and large forests burned out of control for four weeks in Eastern and North-Eastern Victoria.
Then with areas being flooded and now COVID-19 on the top of everyone’s tongue it’s important to take this time while communities are in LOCKDOWN to do an audit of your current Emergency Markers.
Take the time to make sure they are:
✅ Still in existence (especially for those in bushfire areas
✅ Make sure still legible and no graffiti
✅ Check if firmly fixed into the ground or attached to poles
✅ Double-check in the correct location matching the data (yes some have been placed in the wrong co-ordinates directing Emergency Services to the incorrect location
✅ Observe whether you have enough markers in the area (especially for those with NEW trails)
For you to keep your community Save Time and Save Lives, it is important to do regular annual checks of your Environment and NOW is the perfect time to do this.
